TSA Permitted and Prohibited Items List |
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows for passengers to carry-on
small amounts of toiletries under certain conditions. You must follow the 3-1-1 for Carry-Ons. Each of your toiletries
must be 3 oz. or less, and you must place all the toiletries in a single quart-size
zip-top bag.
Note: the container itself
must be 3 oz. or less; a 4 oz. container that is half-full will not be allowed through
the security checkpoint.) |
You must remove this zip-top bag from your carry-on for screening at the security
checkpoint.
Read more about the TSA Regulations.
Remember not to wrap gifts that are either in your carry-on or checked baggage.
Security officers may have to unwrap gifts if they need to take a closer look. Either
ship wrapped gifts ahead of time or wait until you are at your destination to wrap
them. If you plan on traveling with food, make sure liquid, aerosol, and gel items
are in your checked baggage. You can bring pies and cakes as carry-on items through
the security checkpoint, but be advised that they might be subject to additional
screening. When traveling in the USA, the TSA enforces rules on what type of items
can be carried aboard your flight in your carry-on bags, as well as what can be
packed in your checked baggage. The following lists details which items are allowed,
and which are prohibited. |

TSA Permitted and Prohibited Items List
Holiday Travel Tips from TSA
Before you pack that hostess gift or favorite holiday treat in your carry-on, remember
liquids, gels, and aerosols in containers larger than 3 ounces are not permitted
through the security checkpoint. Never fear, cakes and pies are permitted.
TSA's list of holiday items that you should put in your checked bag, ship ahead,
or leave at home :
• Cranberry sauce
• Cologne
• Creamy dips and spreads (cheese spread, peanut butter, etc.)
• Gift baskets with food items (salsa, jams, and sauces). |
• Gravy
• Jams |
• Jellies
• Lotions |
• Maple syrup |
• Oils and vinegars |
• Perfume |
• Salad dressing |
• Salsa |
• Sauces |
• Salsa |
• Snow globes |
• Soups |
• Wine, liquor, and beer |
Gifts
Keep gifts unwrapped, whether they are in your carry-on or checked luggage. TSA
officers may need to unwrap a gift to take a closer look inside. Either ship wrapped
gifts ahead of time or wait until you arrive at your destination to wrap them. |
Family Lanes
If you are traveling with small children or elderly adults, consider using the family
lane to go through security with ease. Family Lanes, located at every security checkpoint,
allow families and travelers with special needs to go through security at their
own pace. Individuals carrying medically necessary liquids, gels, and aerosols in
excess of three ounces will be directed to these lanes. So, if you are traveling
with liquid medications, baby formula, or baby food, look for the signage with the
green circle at each security checkpoint. |
Snow Globes
TSA does not permit snow globes in carry-on baggage because they contain an undetermined
amount of liquid. Snow globes are permitted in checked baggage. |

What is the TSA's Secure Flight Program? |
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has introduced a mandatory program,
known as Secure Flight, which requires travelers to provide additional information
when booking reservations. The TSA implemented the Secure Flight program to improve
the security of domestic and international commercial air travel and to streamline
the watch-list matching process.
Under the Secure Flight program, customers are now required to provide the following
information when booking travel:
- • Full name (as it appears on your official government-issued identification that
will be used when traveling).
- • Gender
- • Date of birth
- •
Redress Number
You can provide this information to the airline while booking your trip on Tripzee.com.
You may also store this information in My Account so it will automatically fill
in the proper fields when making future bookings.
If your reservation doesn't contain this information, update it as soon as possible
for every passenger in your party. The airline may cancel your reservation if you
fail to provide this information 72 hours prior to your scheduled departure. You
will need to update each reservation if you have multiple trips scheduled. |
Update your reservation while purchasing the ticket or Call us at our customer Service
at 855-874-7933 (855)TRIP-ZEE |
OWW enables the airlines to pass passenger information to the TSA prior to departure
date, reducing the number of additional questions and security procedures at check-in.
Providing this information allows Secure Flight to more effectively perform government
watch-list matching, which ultimately creates a safer and easier travel experience
for you. |
The TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies
or others under its published system of records notice. For more on TSA Privacy
policies, or to view the system of records notice and the privacy impact assessment,
please see the
TSA's web site.
What is the objective of Secure Flight Program?
- A-The goals of the program are to:
- Identify known and suspected terrorists
- Prevent individuals on the No Fly List from boarding an aircraft
- Subject individuals on the Selectee List to enhanced screening to determine if they
are permitted to board an aircraft
- Facilitate passenger air travel
- Protect individuals' privacy

Traveling with Pets |
When you are planning a plane trip with your pet, it is crucial to first check your
destination's requirements for bringing pets, especially if you are going to another
country. Make sure that there is not a quarantine required. Preparations for international
travel (the process of vaccinations, micro chipping, and obtaining health certificates
from the required agencies) can take up to six months so you must realize this before
you make airline reservations. Most airlines provide information about bringing
pets onboard. Some airlines will not take pets at all and some will allow pets only
when they are brought into the cabin. There are also rules about when pets are allowed
in cargo depending upon the Season (the cargo hold is too cold in the winter and
too hot in the summer.) |
General Restrictions and Helpful hints for airline travel with pets: |
If traveling with...
Then...
Pets in cargo
Airlines do limit the number of pets based on aircraft and temperature. It is preferable
to book pets on direct, non-stop flights to minimize travel time.
Helpful Hint: During the hot summer months, try scheduling an evening
flight or one early in the morning when daily temperatures are normally at their
lowest. Some airlines not allow pets to travel in the cargo hold during hot
months.
Pets in cabin
Cabin (carry-on) acceptance will vary by aircraft, and the number of pets permitted.
• Cabin pets do require a reservation so the carrier can properly manage
their limitation of pets per cabin. Confirm if this is allowed on your flight and
that space is available.
• Carry-on animals are limited to smaller breeds, usually less than 10 pounds,
and kennels must fit under the seat in front of the passenger. Your pet must be
able to stand and be comfortable in the kennel.
An unhealthy pet
• Be aware of any quarantine regulations that are being enforced at your destination.
• Check with a veterinarian to make sure your pet is fit to travel as the airline
will not allow you to travel with a sick pet.
Keep in mind that you might need the following for your pet when traveling:
• Certificate of good health, signed by a veterinarian, within 30 days of
travel.
• Collar with complete identification and license tag.
• Rabies vaccination certificate if the flight crosses state or international
borders.
Please note – Rules may change frequently. We strongly recommend Tripzee travelers
to check directly with concern airline for traveling with pet. |

Baggage Policy |
Baggage means "belongings" of a passenger travelling from one place to another.
These allowances are not definitive but will give you a good general idea of the
baggage allowances of most major airlines. International flights generally have
the same size and weight allowances but may cut down on the number of pieces that
can be checked. Also allowance variations can differ depending on the destination
country. Please check with specific Airlines if you are close to any of these limits.
Airline Baggage Rules |
These are generalizations of many different airline's specific travel baggage allowances
and limitations. Please check with specific airlines and flights if you are close
to any of these limits. Most airlines will allow oversize or overweight baggage
or additional baggage for an additional fee which varies depending on the situation.
Each airline has its own domestic policies and fees for carry-on bags and checked
luggage. Baggage policies and fees not only differ for each domestic airline, but
when purchasing a ticket from Tripzee.com, we do NOT include any fees associated
with baggage. Fees are collected at the airport by the airline upon check-in.
To eunsure Tripzee customers stay informed of the latest domestic airline baggage
policies, we’ve included a list below of domestic airlines with a link to their
website. |
The general rule for carry on is one bag and one personal item, such as a pocketbook
or briefcase, per passenger. However, this must also be verified with the airline
you’re flying. |
The Department of Transportation and the Transportation Security Administration
have provided a list of restricted items for domestic checked baggage and domestic
carry-on bags. Restrictions and allowances can change without notice, so please
verify the information by clicking on the airlines link below:
